API : Application Programming Interface
The Bank of Thailand (BOT) acknowledges the importance of API technology to support business operations in digital era for government, private and community at large. In response to this, the BOT has adopted Application Programming Interface (API) to automate data connection, resulted in reducing work process and enhancing further innovative use of data. BOT will provide data through service of BOT API within 2018, comprise of:
Highly frequent data, including exchange rate, interest rate and debt securities auction result, are disseminated since July 17, 2017.
Statistics, including economic and financial, financial Institutions, financial market, and payment systems statistics, will continuously disseminated from July 24, 2018.
Other data, such as financial product comparison, bank holidays, branches and service points of commercial banks etc, are partially disseminated since March 16, 2018.
From July 24, 2018 onwards, BOT API users have to sign up and accept terms of use to create an account before getting the service. The original BOT API service will be terminated on December 31, 2018, therefore users who get data from the original service should sign up for the new service before terminated date in order to continue getting the data that used to received, for example, exchange rate, interest rate.
